DRUIDSHAKESPEARE, the epic cycle of plays where the Galway company takes on, not an Irish playwright, but the greatest English dramatist of all time, starts next week.

The Galway Arts Festival returns from Monday July 16 to Sunday 29 and will be officially launched in Dublin this evening and in Galway tomorrow. Below is all that is on during the two weeks and there is plenty to look forward to.

Druid Theatre company has announced the cast members for the DruidMurphy project, an ambitious staging of three classic dramas by the Tuam born playwright.

Galway’s Druid Theatre presented their acclaimed production of Sean O’Casey’s The Silver Tassie at the Lincoln Theatre, New York on Tuesday. The play will run till the end of the month.

DRUID THEATRE will celebrate its coral anniversary - the 35th anniversary of its founding in Galway city in 1975 - with a major performance featuring excerpts from the great Irish plays, performed by many of this country’s finest actors and actresses.
