Technological University of the Shannon (TUS) and the Gaelic Players Association (GPA) are delighted to announce details of the application process for six fully funded enhanced scholarships for GPA members, across the university’s Midwest and Midlands campuses for the 2023/2024 academic year.

The Women’s Gaelic Players Association has been formally launched this week.

The nominees for the 2010 Opel GPA Hurling Team of the Year were announced earlier in the week by the Gaelic Players Association. A total of 45 players have been shortlisted for the Team of the Year, while four players also received nominations for the prestigious Opel GPA Hurler of the Year Award.

Kilkenny’s Eoin Larkin and Tyrone’s Seán Cavanagh have been announced as the Opel Gaelic Players of the Year for hurling and football for 2008 by the Gaelic Players Association at the GPA’s annual gala and awards evening at the Citywest Hotel.

Nine-time All-star winner and ex-Gaelic Players Association President DJ Carey believes that the GPA would be silly to ignore the €1.05 million euro on the table for a new government grants scheme, despite the ‘package’ being reduced by almost €2 million because of the current economic climate.
