Acquire fire-damaged HSE building for Ballygar Community Hub, says Parsons
In a significant step towards transforming a fire-damaged and long-derelict building in Ballygar, Cllr Evelyn Parsons has made formal requests for the acquisition and redevelopment of the former HSE building beside Ballygar Garda Station. The building, which was extensively damaged by fire in February 2021, has since become an eyesore and a source of frustration for the community.

Only one case of a severe form of Lyme disease, a bacterial infection which can be spread to humans by infected ticks, was reported in Galway last year, according to figures released by the HSE. This was the first case to have been reported in the county for four years.
Specialist menopause clinic at UHG
Sixty patients have attended a regional menopause clinic since it was set up in November of last year. The facility, which is based at University Hospital Galway, is a specialist service for women with additional needs around menopause care. Women are referred to the clinic which is open one afternoon per week.
