The Red Carnation Hotel Collection, which encompasses Ashford Castle and sister hotel, The Lodge at Ashford in Mayo, has scooped two awards at the Cateys in the UK, a prestigious award ceremony for the hospitality industry.

Red Carnation Hotels purchased the four star Lisloughrey Lodge Hotel from receivers KPMG. Red Carnation Hotels had previously acquired the adjoining five-star Ashford Castle in 2013 and is currently undertaking a significant refurbishment and upgrading programme of the castle.

Take note, men. If you’re convinced that a big bunch of red roses is a bit over-extravagent this Valentine’s Day, then think again.
