ATU researchers recognised among top scientists in Materials Science
Atlantic Technological University (ATU) announces that two of its researchers, Prof Suresh Pillai and Dr Umar Khan, have been acknowledged among the best scientists in the field of Materials Science in Ireland, with a ranking of 14 and 27 respectively. The results were published on the leading international education platform, Research.com.

The ATU Galway City campus has been awarded My Green Lab certification in recognition of work by staff and students in making all teaching science laboratories on campus more sustainable. My Green Lab certification is an international gold standard for best practice in laboratory sustainability which is recognised in the United Nations’ Race to Zero campaign as a key achievement in working towards a zero-carbon future.

The 19th Galway Science and Technology Festival welcomed another record breaking 20,000 visitors to its annual final day Exhibition at NUI Galway last Sunday, and honoured several people on the day with major science awards. The two-week Festival culminated in the final day Exhibition and also brought 180 STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths) shows and workshops to 35,000 primary and secondary school students across Galway City and County.
