GMIT School of Engineering is offering two new postgraduate programmes for employees in the Built Environment sector who wish to upskill and receive a qualification in the broad areas of the Irish Building Regulations and Leadership in the Circular Economy.

GMIT’s Department of Building & Civil Engineering has announced its degree programmes in architectural technology have received Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists (CIAT) accreditation for the next five years. The CIAT is the professional accreditation body for architectural technologists; chartered membership (MCIAT) is a globally recognised standard of excellence and professionalism.

The Chartered Association of Building Engineers has presented Simon O’Grady from Rinneen, Gort, with its annual award for best first student in CABE-accredited programmes in the built environment.

Students and staff at the GMIT School of Engineering will host a series of laboratory demonstrations and workshops for secondary and primary school pupils from Monday as part of Engineers Week.
