A score for the ages by Éanna Burke secured St. Thomas’ a much-deserved second All-Ireland senior hurling club title last Sunday in Croke Park after a titanic tussle with Kilkenny’s O’Loughlin Gaels.

St. Thomas’ steadfast determination to etch their name on the Tommy Moore cup for the second time will face a severe test on Sunday afternoon in Croke Park when they take on Leinster champions O’Loughlin Gaels from Kilkenny in the All-Ireland senior hurling club final, which throws in at 1.30pm.

St. Thomas’ will compete in a senior All-Ireland club hurling semi-final for the seventh time in their history next Saturday evening when they travel to O’Moore Park in Portlaoise to take on Munster champions and competition favourites Ballygunner of Waterford (throw-in 7.30pm).

The Connacht intermediate football semi final will take place this coming Sunday afternoon in Tuam Stadium at 2pm between Monivea-Abbey and Mayo intermediate champions Kilmeena as Francis Roche’s team begin their foray into the provincial championship.
