The Irish Exporters Association (IEA), the voice of the export industry in Ireland,have announced that Aerogen, innovative medical device and drug delivery company Exporter of the Year 2014 at the Export Industry Awards (Awards). The Awards, in their 14th year, attracted more than 500 guests including Minister Alex White, TD, the Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources who provided a keynote address, Ambassadors and Dignitaries from 24 embassies in Ireland and Ivan Yates as MC to the Convention Centre Dublin.

Athlone Bower student heads for Euro science forum

Eileen Reidy from Our Lady’s Bower, Athlone, will attend the Euro Science Open Forum 2012 in the Convention Centre Dublin, next Friday July 13. Earlier this year, Eileen participated in Agri Aware’s Green Dragon Secondary Schools Innovation Challenge where her idea of helping seeds to grow in drought conditions using hydrogel polymers (gel in which water is the main dispersion medium) won her the top prize of a €7,000 development fund. Along with this prize fund, Eileen was also awarded the opportunity to showcase her idea at this year’s Euro Science Open Forum, a week-long event that will be attended by over 6,000 scientists, business leaders, and government officials from across Europe.

Schools given a chance to sing with orchestra

Westmeath County Council is looking for two primary schools in Westmeath to take part in a new national children’s choral project in conjunction with the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra and conductor Fergus Sheil which will take place in the Convention Centre in Dublin on Saturday November 10.
