NEXT MONTH’S Galway Film Fleadh will host the premieres of five new Irish films - Patrick’s Day, The Canal, Gold, A Nightingale Falling, and An Bronntanas.

Former Dalton Park resident Terry McMahon will take his place alongside Fatal Attraction’s Glenn Close and Ocean’s Eleven’s Don Cheadle in the National Convention Centre on February 11, after his film Charlie Casanova was nominated for four Irish Film and Television Awards this week.

THE 2011 Galway Film Fleadh concluded on Sunday with the touching and beautiful film Beginners, starring Ewan McGregor and Christopher Plummer, while the Fleadh awards were also announced.
