Christmas carol services will take place in Achill and Belmullet this month.

St Nicholas’ Collegiate Church will host its Carols Round the Christmas Tree event at 4pm on Christmas Eve.

The Annual Civic Carol Service in St Nicholas’ is on Sunday Dec 19 at 4.00pm and will include a traditional service of nine lessons and carols with a special blessing of the whole city. The service will be attended by the Mayor and city councillors as well as Rt Rev Richard Henderson, Bishop of Tuam and Bishop Martin Drennan, and representatives of all the main churches in the city. The public are invited to go along and join in celebrating the Nativity in prayers, readings and carols.

A Christmas carol service will be held in the Galway Cathedral on Tuesday from 7.30pm. The service will be presided over by Bishop Martin Drennan.

You are warmly invited to two special carol services in Belmullet. The first carol service will be on Wednesday December 3 at 8 pm in the Broadhaven Bay Hotel. There will be a second service in the Ionad Deirbhile Heritage Centre, Eachléim, Belmullet on Thursday December 4 at 8pm.

Ardrahan Church of Ireland will hold a community carol service on Wednesday December 17 at 8pm.
