Hotting up in the camogie championships

It was another busy weekend in the Senior A, B and Intermediate camogie championships. In the Senior A competition, Carnmore and St Thomas recorded their first victories of the championship while Athenry and Sarsfields continued their unbeaten run. In the Senior B contest, Kinvara and Shamrocks had to split the spoils while Mountbellew recorded their first win in the seniors ranks. There were also wins for Clarinbridge and Castlegar. Finally in the Intermediate championship, there were victories for Ahascragh Caltra, Killimor and St Colmans while Cappataggle and Abbeyknockmoy had to share the points.

Strong finish ensures another win for Ardrahan

Ardrahan remains unbeaten after three games, having overcome Davitts in Mullagh in the senior club championship at the weekend.

Sarsfields' women on song in title opener

All-Ireland champions Sarsfields opened their Galway title defence with a comfortable victory over Craughwell at the weekend, while there were also wins for last year’s county finalists Oranmore Maree and Ardrahan in the Windows and Rooflights Ltd Senior A Championship.

Cork close out Galway in end of tight camogie contest

In a repeat of last year’s Glen Dimplex All-Ireland Intermediate final, Galway, without any of the players who were part of that success, suffered a third defeat in the Very Ireland Division 2B, losing to Cork 3-9 to 2-15.
