The weekend’s entertainment kicks off at Live in the Basement at Brennan’s Lane this evening with one of Ireland’s best covers bands The Seducers taking to the stage.

Smash Hits! are an entertaining tribute to the golden era of early 90s dance, pop and R‘n’B. This Dublin six-piece comprises experienced musicians performing the best of classic 90s tracks from acclaimed artists such as Vanilla Ice, MC Hammer, House of Pain, Take That, Spice Girls, Haddaway, Prodigy, and Snap, among others. Fully decked out in 90s outfits and possessing an energetic set overflowing with chart hits, Smash Hits! are a throwback to a feel good time of old school nightclub DJs, all-night raves, and packed dance floors.

Big Whiskey is a tight three piece band hailing from Sligo, All three members have toured the country with other respected bands, and have now joined forces as one super band bringing all their respective musical tastes and talent together in the form of Big Whiskey; there will be no small ones had when Big Whiskey is in town. And tonight Big Whiskey will be taking to the stage in Live at the Basement in Brennan’s Lane, Ballina.

Gorilla Radio are a four piece rock band from Mayo/Roscommon and Wexford. Members are Noel Kenny, Paul Newell (Ballina), Seanie Walsh (Ballina), and Joey Kennedy. They have been together for over two years now and have already built up a huge following all over the country and are regarded as one of the best cover bands in the country. This Saturday night September 2 Liam (13), Jan (12) and 10-year-old Quinn who have rocked the charity world by busking and raising more than $125,000 for charity will take to the stage in Brennan’s Lane, Ballina. They have shared bills with Sean Paul and Kymani Marley and performed live with artists such as Arcade Fire, Hollerado, and The Odds.
