Knockmore to host fifth annual Vincy James tournament

he Knockmore Boxing club will stage the fifth Annual Vincy James Memorial tournament in the Foxford Sports and Leisure Centre on the Sunday afternoon of January 27. This is the club’s fifth anniversary and there are plans for a major event to mark the occasion. Sixteen contests will be on the main programme with 10 underage boxers prior to the main event, getting their chance to perform in front of the home crowd, some of them for the very first time. The Knockmore club is seeking sponsorship from businesses/clubs/organisations or individuals for the 16 contests and would be extremely grateful for any assistance in staging the tournament. Sponsors will have the opportunity to present the trophies to the boxers after each bout on the day. Past winners of the Vincy James cup are James Langan, the Mc Gowan brothers Dara and Tadhg and last year the 2012 National Champion Eric Nash.
