The second round of action in the Mayo GAA Senior Football Championship saw plenty of thrills and spills last weekend across the county.

Last weekend saw the quarter-finals in the top divisions of the Mayo Senior League take place as the sides limbered up for the championship race coming into view in a few weeks.

There was a call this week for the HSE to reconsider their plans to move the main Covid-19 drive-through test centre in the county from Hastings Insurance MacHale Park in Castlebar, where it has operated since early in the days of the pandemic, to the Breaffy House Resort, which is also the location of the main vaccination centre in the county.

Breaffy GAA Club has extended its commitment to reducing the stigma surrounding mental health with the announcement that Mindspace Mayo will now feature on the club's u14 jerseys. It is hoped that the campaign will raise awareness of youth mental health issues in Mayo. GAA clubs have the ability to educate the community on the power of positive mental health and to ensure people understand the importance of seeking help and understanding the services available to them.
