Signify Health’s new state-of-the-art technology centre in the heart of Galway city was officially opened on Tuesday by the company’s CEO Kyle Armbrester.

Sometimes when we look at a old picture of the heart of Galway City and notice something that is there no longer, we strain to remember when exactly that change took place. There are many time-stamped prompts to help us. Maybe it is the sight of cars on Shop Street, some pulled up to collect heavy goods from the likes of O’Connor TV or Naughtons. Or books from O’Gormans. Or the sight of Una Taaffe, shawled up to greet the morning.

The last remaining office floor in Phase 1 of the impressive Bonham Quay campus in Galway has been leased to Planet.

It is perhaps surprising that a city such as Galway which was built on the water and is mostly surrounded by it, should have taken this long to realise that perhaps for centuries, we have been looking the wrong way. There are not many cities that have the proximity of its port so close to the city centre and yet have it so underutilised. Perhaps now, comes the vision that will change that.

Diligent Corporation, a leading modern governance company used by nearly 700,000 board directors and leaders worldwide, has announced Galway’s Bonham Quay as the location for its new European Hub. The company announced late last year that it was creating 200 local jobs in Galway as part of its long-term business strategy to drive international growth.

Bonham Quay, the new mixed-use development in the heart of Galway City, has been recognised as a leader in One Planet Living® by the international sustainability charity ‘Bioregional’, it was confirmed yesterday (Wednesday).
