Mayo manager Stephen Rochford says he is looking forward to the 2018 season and that almost all roads really lead to the Connacht Championship quarter-final in May. Speaking to the Mayo Advertiser earlier this week the Crossmolina native said some fans may be disappointed with the 2018 national league, especially those who feel Mayo underachieved in the past few years.

Mayo line up series of fundraising events

Mayo GAA have lined up a series of fundraising events in the lead up to and after next Sunday's All Ireland senior football final in Croke Park. After the final the official Mayo GAA team banquet will take place in Citywest hotel on Sunday evening September 18. Tables of ten cost €800 or tickets can be purchased individually for €80. Now that was more like it. We asked for a performance,we wanted passion,we got them both in abundance. Mayo produced their best display in 12 months to send Ulster champions and hot favourites Tyrone packing out of this year's championship. The game was not the best advertisement for Gaelic football but it was intriguing, intense, and tactical and had everybody on the edge of their seats right until the final whistle.
