Anticipation has reached fever pitch as the cast and crew of Athlone Little Theatre’s production of Two by Jim Cartwright ready themselves for the national One Act Drama Finals in Ennis this Sunday afternoon, December 4. This is the Little Theatre’s very first appearance in the All-Ireland One Act Finals, and how fitting it is that this historic event occurs at the end of the theatre’s 75th anniversary year.

Athlone Little Theatre have scored a major triumph in their 75th anniversary year, as Ollie Hegarty’s production of Two, by Jim Cartwright, has just reached the all-Ireland One Act Drama finals. The finals will take place in Ennis in early December, and Two is being hotly tipped for further major awards.

Gripping drama, hilarious dialogue, and scary supernatural elements are just some of the rich mix on offer at Athlone Little Theatre towards the end of this month, as the group launches one of the first ever amateur productions of Conor McPherson’s The Seafarer at the theatre in St Mary’s Place. The play opens on Friday February 25.
