EU must act on Belarus ban says MEP
The European Union has to make the strongest possible representations to the Government of Belarus to remove the recent ban on children leaving that country to holiday and receive medical treatment in Ireland and other EU countries.

MEP Liam Aylward has written to the Irish Minister for Foreign Affairs Micheál Martin, and the EU Ambassador to Belarus, Senko Vladimir, calling for a long-term agreement to be put in place between the Belarussian and Irish governments to ensure that 200 children from Chernobyl will be able to visit Ireland this coming Christmas and at all other times.
