A little piece of history was created at Geraldine Park, Athy on Sunday last when Kilkenny claimed the Leinster under-14 C’ title in ladies football. The girls made a quick start to the game with a stunning six minute blitz midway through the first half which yielded three goals. Despite a second half comeback from Louth, the Kittens’ strength in front of goal had proved crucial and the deficit was too much for Louth to claw back.

The Kilkenny under 14 girls made the short trip to Tinryland on Saturday to take on neighbours Carlow in round 1 of the Leinster championship, and as in recent years the Kittens were well in command from early on and recorded an easy victory.

The Kilkenny under-14 ladies football team captured their first division 3 title at the Leinster Blitz over the weekend.
