•Galway Golf Club: Galway Senior Scratch Cup, Played in testing blustery conditions, Aaron O’Callaghan (+1 Douglas G C) came from three shots behind to tie with the first-round leader Stephen Healy (+1 Claremorris GC) on 146. Stephen Healy went on to win the title on the third tie hole. They were followed on the scoresheet by Thomas O’Connor (Scr Athlone GC ) 148, Damien Coyne (1 Galway GC), and Mark Rowe (2 Athlone GC ). Oughterard Golf Club beat Strandhill Golf Club 4/1 in a dramatic final of the Junior Cup held in their home club at the weekend. Loughrea Golf Club beat Galway Bay Golf Club 3/2 in the Pierce Purcell Cup, while Galway Golf Club beat Athlone Golf Club by six holes in the Barton Shield and Co Sligo Golf Club 3/2 in the final of the Senior Cup.
