Saturday, Day three of the All-Ireland Juvenile Track and Field Championships, had a successful outcome for a number of Kilkenny athletes. It had special significance for Sophie Parkinson, Gowran, and Paul Manning, St Joseph’s. Both athletes collected their second gold medal of the championships.

There were some outstanding performances by some of the young athletes at the juvenile even age groups cross-country at a wind and rain swept Tramore Racecourse on Sunday. However the Kilkenny athletes made light of the tough hilly and winding course and adverse weather conditions.

Kilkenny District League made hard work of their victory at Scanlon Park on Sunday afternoon which saw them finish with 1-0 lead against the NEC League.
