Mayo North East LEADER Partnership and Moy Valley Resources IRD have welcomed the recent announcement of LEADER funding for the Belleek Woods Enhancement Committee group to conduct two studies that will examine the development two sites in the Belleek Woods.

Moy Valley Resources IRD is hosting a series of Leader community information meetings over the coming weeks. The purpose of the meetings is to update and inform individuals, communities and businesses on the new EU Leader programme, which is due to come on stream in Mayo in late spring, and help them to identify potential projects for funding under the programme.

Preparations are under way for the widely acclaimed multi-platinum and award winning singer Fr Liam Lawton who is performing in St Patrick’s Church, Ballina, on Friday August 28 at 8.30pm. The Catholic priest, working in the diocese of Kildare & Leighlin south of Dublin, is widely admired in religious and non-religious circles nationally and internationally. Some of his most famous compositions such as ’The Clouds’ Veil’ and ‘The Hiding Place’ are performed at many religious ceremonies throughout the world.
