Win McCoy’s jodhpurs at Langton’s Cheltenham gig

Racing punters are being encouraged to trot along to the Cheltenham preview night at Langton’s in Kilkenny on March 3 to back some winners at the up and coming Cheltenham Festival.

Punters will be able to get tips from experts which will ensure that their bets cross the line and parade in the winners’ enclosure.

Mick Fitzgerald, one of the most successful jump jockeys of all time, now retired and working as a racing correspondent will travel to Kilkenny from the UK to act as MC for the preview event which will benefit the Irish Hospice Foundation (IHF ).

The high profile expert panel will include Tony Mullins, jockey Timmy Murphy, trainer Edward O’Grady, racing journalist Donn McClean, UK bloodstock agent David Minton, and Paul Ryan of Paddy Power.

Tickets cost €15 for the night which includes a free €5 Paddy Power bet. The event will start at 8pm sharp with the panel giving their much awaited tips. It is organised by Mary Millea who works as business development manager with the Irish Hospice Foundation, and hails from Tullaroan, Co Kilkenny. All proceeds from ticket sales and the charity auction on the night will go to the Irish Hospice Foundation.

Highlights from the night will include a fundraising auction. The star prize has been donated by Paddy Power and is two corporate box tickets with overnight accommodation for this year’s All Ireland, in which Kilkenny will most likely be playing! AP McCoy, the 13 times UK Champion National Hunt Jockey and recent record holder of 3,000 wins over hurdles has presented a pair of signed framed jodhpurs for the auction.

The event has been sponsored by Paddy Power in a bid to raise funds for the Irish Hospice Foundation which it has adopted as its charity partner.

Cheltenham will take place from March 10-13.
