Kieran Goss, the acclaimed singer/songwriter whom country legend Don Williams calls "one of the most gifted performers around today" is visiting Kilkenny as part of his Irish tour.
The show is celebrating the recent release of his new album, 'I'll Be Seeing You'.
During his Irish tour, Kieran will be accompanied on stage by Gareth Hughes on double bass and his wife, Ann Kinsella, on backing vocals. Performing songs from the new album along with hits such as ‘Out Of My Head’ and ‘Reasons To Leave’.
This will be the eighth solo album from the multi-platinum selling Goss and 'I'll Be Seeing You' has already earned early praise as "a triumphant return to form" and "an acoustic masterpiece"
Long hailed as one of Ireland's leading songwriters and performers, over the last twenty years Kieran Goss has quietly and consistently delivered songs of rare quality and his wonderful, deceptively simple melodies have won him fans across the globe. But while his albums have made him a star, his live shows have made him a legend. Live on stage is where Kieran Goss really shines.
Catch him at the Watergate Theatre on Friday night for just one show. Tickets are available at the box office.
Finbar Wright
Another great Irish musician is set to hit the Kilkenny stage this weekend on Sunday night.
Kinsale-born tenor Finbar Wright will be wooing his audience on the Watergate stage on Sunday night.
Having received huge acclaim as one of the Irish Tenors, Finbar is equally successful as a solo artist.
He has recorded six solo albums and six also with the Irish Tenors. He has performed at many historical world events in recent times, including the reading of the Gospel at Pope John Paul II’s legendary first Papal Mass at the Phoenix Park, Dublin, in 1979; the impressive State Dinner given in honour of US President Bill Clinton at Dublin Castle in 1995; and he performed live for ‘Good Morning America’ during its coverage of President Reagan’s funeral on Capitol Hill, Washington in 2004.
His latest album ‘When I Need Love’ was released in November last year to critical acclaim and as he says himself ‘is designed to be light-hearted, romantic, and familiar for the most part.’
Finbar will be singing from his lengthy repertoire for a select Kilkenny audience on Sunday night and once again fans are advised to buy tickets in advance from the Watergate Theatre box office on 056 7761674.
