A man was this week disqualified from driving for six years for driving under the influence of alcohol.
Dale Fogarty with an address at Chatsworth, Clogh, Castlecomer, Co Kilkenny pleaded guilty to drunken driving, driving without a valid driving licence, failure to produce a valid NCT certificate, and non display of a front identification mark at Coolbawn, Castlecomer, on February 29, 2008.
Defendant’s solicitor Michael Lanigan told Casltecomer District Court that his client had worked as a steel erecter but was not currently employed. The court also heard that the defendant had a number of previous convictions for similar offences.
Judge William Harnett fined him €950 and disqualified him from holding a driving licence for six years.
