Sunday February 1 saw the newest instalment of locally produced web comedy ‘Vultures’ go online.
Entitled 'The Case Of The Poisoned Dates', the latest episode of the detective comedy sees the investigators of VPI take on a work experience student for two weeks. The student in question is 16-year old Janine Drew (Suzanne O'Brien ), a brash, gum chewing schoolgirl who can be best described as a 'chav'.
Nonetheless, she soon proves to be a keen amateur detective herself and soon she's helping the detectives as they are drawn into a tangled web of divorce cases, awkward blind dates and romantic disasters.
The production of ‘Vultures’ has been granted funding by the Kilkenny County Council's Arts Office and is produced by local production outfit Mycrofilms.
Since production started in 2007, ‘Vultures’ has seen a wide spread of local actors, technicians and artists become involved in the project and it has started to gain national attention as the series progresses.
The series was designed for internet distribution and broadcast and all episodes and content can be found exclusively on the Vultures website, www.VulturesPI.com
The Case Of The Poisoned Dates was written by Paddy Dunne and John Morton, directed by Ross Costigan and produced by Alan Slattery. The final two instalments of Vultures are currently filming in and around Kilkenny with the series due to wrap by March. The remaining episodes will be released online in summer 2009.
