Learn to love the home you’re in

With the property market at a standstill and no indication that prices will recover any time soon many homoeowners have been forced to ditch their plans to sell up for the time being.

In the past, when homeowners prepared to sell their home they slaped on a fresh coat of paint or put in new carpets or tiling as a way of helping to increase the value of their property and improve their chances of selling their home.

However, given the current situation and with no sign of any recovery in the

short- term future many of us will be forced to change our reasons for home improvements. And rather than spend a few quid to help sell the property, people should now be looking at what they can do with their home to help them be happy with the one they have, and will more than likely be living in for the next few years at least.

So if you can’t buy or build the home of your dreams, at least love the home you’re in. Whether it is a new kitchen and breakfast bar or a luxury bathroom with jacuzzi these features can easily be installed in your home without having to buy a luxury home and incur the huge debt that comes with it.

Just think about the things that you would like in a bigger house if you were to move and then see if these improvements, whether it is a new conservatory, solar panelling, underfloor heating, or even an extra bedroom could be installed in your existing home.

With careful planning and consultation chances are you will be able to make some impressive improvements to your existing home, and perhaps when you eventually have an opportunity to sell your home, you may love your newly improved home so much you won’t want to leave it!
