The Deans play Ryan's in January gig

The Deans blues/rock trio from Galway are set to take the small stage (or area! ) in Ryans by storm tonight Friday for a gig that will leave fans yearning for more.

At the early ages of 18 and 19 they are already veterans of the road and have just released their third album called The Album. They have also been rapidly developing a reputation at venues throughout Ireland, the UK, Switzerland and France.

The teenage blues explosion of The Deans took off after appearing at the Ballyshannon International Rory Gallagher festival in 2006 where in front of 2000 people they caused traffic chaos as people stopped to watch their blistering performance.

In February 2007 they won the Irish world award in London for best new band.

Under the influence of Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac, Cream, and Taste, The Deans can delight their audience with a high energy show full of guitar mastery which immerses you into the heart of the music.

Ireland's veteran of Woodstock, Henry McCullough (Joe Cocker Grease Band, and Paul McCartney's Wings ), said of The Deans after recording with them, "there's an explosion happening in the town of Athenry which will soon be heard all over the world and it's called The Deans. I loved every minute of our time together in the recording studio. I felt quite emotional watching Gavin Dean play the Gibson Les Paul that I used with Joe Cocker at Woodstock, the same guitar I used on My Love with Paul McCartney."

The Deans also recorded and played with Horslips legend Johnny Fean who was also hugely impressed by the young teenagers, he enthused:

"Gavin Dean is the real deal, a true prodigy. The Deans have everything they need to take on the world. Their album is in my car with Hendrix, Clapton and Jeff Beck.......need I say any more?"

They play Cleeres this evening (Friday ) Tickets available on the door.
