The next date on the domestic calendar is the commencement of the Frostbite Winter league. It’s time for players to dust off their racquets for the New Year.
Closing date for this doubles competition is this week, with play commencing January 19. Finals will take place on Saturday, March 7. The entry fee is €10 for this doubles tournament where your partner is chosen for you. Names and the entry fee should be given at the club bar to ensure entry.
The usual American tournaments have commenced again for the New Year. They are a competitive and fun way to play a competition in a round robin fashion and take place every Friday evening in the tennis club in Archersfield. The format is generally mixed doubles and players are drawn with players of equal or similar standard where possible. Interested parties should put their names on the poster in the clubhouse to ensure entry.
