Kilkenny’s MacDonagh Junction shopping centre opened its Christmas festivities on Saturday with the arrival of Santa.
Santa travelled by vintage car through the city and into Workhouse Square, where he has now taken up residence at Polar Mountain in the centre.
The spectacular polar themed grotto at MacDonagh Junction will be a must-see for parents and children visiting the centre this Christmas.
Kilkenny’s first ever bowling centre also opened at MacDonagh Junction on Saturday. The state of the art 10-lane K-Bowl centre provides a welcome addition to the line-up of 34 high quality retailers now in operation at the major shopping centre which is located next to Kilkenny’s main railway station.
Marking the spirit of Christmas, a delightful crib has also been established at the centre in conjunction with St John’s Parish in the city.
MacDonagh Junction is providing shoppers with two hours free parking at any time until the end of January, with free parking also available after 6pm each evening. Shoppers will also be hugely facilitated with centre trading hours extended until 9pm each day Monday to Friday in December.
Children are well catered for at the centre every weekend when face painting and novelty balloon shaping are provided free of charge. Other important members of the community are also considered with a senior citizens’ gathering every Monday at 11am and mums’ mornings on Tuesdays at Costa Coffee in Workhouse Square.
