Baltinglass gardaí swoop to seize €2 million in drugs

A massive €2 million worth of drugs was taken off the street last week thanks to the hardworking officers at Baltinglass Garda Station.

A planned operation in conjunction with the Garda National Drugs Unit and other national units swooped on a massive stash of heroin and cocaine with an estimated street value (pending forensic analysis ), of €2 million last Saturday.

The planned operation was conducted on an open area on the outskirts of Russelstown, Blessington. Officers also seized a handgun and a large quantity of ammunition.

A 24-year-old man has been arrested and is currently detained at Naas Garda Station under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act, 1996.
