A brand new primary care and medical centre is to be opened in Callan today.
Anna Marie Lanigan, HSE area manager for Carlow-Kilkenny/South Tipperary, and the doctors of the Callan Primary Care and Medical Centre invited dignitaries and local representatives along with members of the media to the official opening of Callan Primary Care and Medical Centre by the Minister for Environment, Community and Local Government Phil Hogan.
The event will take place at 10.30am today, Friday February 3, at the new centre, on the Kilkenny Road in Callan.
Centenarian Nancy Walsh who was 100 last year has been invited to attend the event.
Minister Hogan will firstly attend the official launch of the Carlow/Kilkenny Community Intervention Team at 9.30am on the Caredoc base on the Waterford Road in Kilkenny.
