Snowdrop open day in aid of Carlow/Kilkenny Home Care

Richard and Sally St George, whose family have lived at Kilrush House, Freshford, for more than 400 years, are opening their spectacular snowdrop display to the public for the first time.

Members of the public are invited to Kilrush House on Sundays February 5 and 12, from 10am to 4pm, where they will be guided around Kilrush House’s spectacular snowdrop displays, gardens, and woodlands. Entry is €5 per adult with children going free, with all proceeds to go to the Carlow/Kilkenny Home Care team, headed up by Dr Ian Wilson – a family friend of Richard and Sally St George. Refreshments will be served.

“Kilrush House has one of the oldest natural collections of snowdrops in the county and we want to give visitors the chance to enjoy them as much as we do,” said Sally St George.

“The blankets of snowdrops growing here each spring are truly spectacular. We encourage visitors to wear good walking shoes and really enjoy the grounds and woodlands of Kilrush House.”

Kilrush House is just two miles past Freshford out the Urlingford Road. Visitors are welcome to both snowdrop open days, February 5 and 12. Good walking shoes are advised.
