A reader’s experience of colonic irrigation

Part 1

What was I letting myself in for! But now after all the treatments are over I could not recommend colonic irrigation and the Ultimate Health clinic enough. I have a great feeling of wellness after the whole experience. While I was apprehensive, my nerves were put at ease in the clinic with its private treatment rooms and friendly, experienced staff. I found the main discomfort was thinking about all the bad food I was putting into my body and the effect it is having. Anyone serious about living a healthy lifestyle and having an illness-free body, should consider having a colonic. Combined with a good detox diet it will clear your system out and leave you feeling revitalised. I couldn’t endorse it enough.

Before having the treatment I had asked people who had colonics before about their experiences and they all said that it really depended on the therapist. This is definitely true for Caroline as she has such a pleasant and professional manner that she instantly puts you at ease and her discretion would remind you of being at the doctors. Caroline has over thirteen year’s experience in the complementary health sector and in addition to being a registered colonic hydrotherapist, she is a qualified allergist, parasitologist and nutritional therapist, so rest assured I was in safe hands.

Prior to first of the colonic treatments, Caroline at the clinic recommended I follow their one week detox diet in preparation. I convinced myself to be committed to this so for the following week my daily diet consisted of the following: Breakfast was a slice of melon or kiwi, porridge oat flakes made with water, McCambridge brown bread and a glass of water. The midday meal then was vegetable soup made with carrots, broccoli, parsnip and potatoes. The evening meal was a choice of organic chicken or fresh while fish (cod, plaice or whiting ) either steamed or fried in olive oil, with potatoes or brown rice, and vegetables. It was recommended I drink plenty of water between meals and that I consume no dairy products, no fruit or sugar, no salt or pepper, no tea or coffee, and no alcohol.
