Adopt a pet this Christmas for life

Petmania Kilkenny is urging people to consider adopting a pet this Christmas. Petmania was established to help and support local rescue centres.

In Kilkenny, Petmania work with Paws Animal Rescue, who are in store every Saturday. Information regarding dogs that are looking for homes is available seven days a week at Petmania, Kilkenny.

Paws Animal Rescue will be in store at Petmania, Kilkenny Retail Park on Saturday on December 3, 10 and 17.

For those thinking about acquiring a pet this Christmas, perhaps consider adoption first.

“Ireland has a serious problem with the over-population of dogs and cats, and our rescue centres are full to capacity, each caring for an average of 70 dogs at any one time who are all looking for long term loving homes,” says Emily Miller, marketing manager of Petmania.

It costs about €170 to care for a dog in a rescue centre. Petmania are asking the public to help support their local rescue centre by making a donation, whatever size, to the Petmania Adoption Centre Christmas Appeal.
