St Senan’s athlete Sean Caulfield was a member of the Irish team at the recent British and Irish Masters cross-country International in Bellahouston Park, Glasgow, Scotland.
The race featured athletes from Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and England. The race was run in very wet and windy conditions over an extremely difficult hilly course.
Over-35s, 40s, 45s, 50s, 55s and 60s competed in their own categories for individual and team prizes. Caulfield ran in the over-45s category and ran a great race, finishing ninth overall, and helping the Irish team to second place behind England in the team event. Northern Ireland was third with Wales fourth and Scotland fifth.
