Cody’s kit bag to raise funds for charity

Kilkenny hurling manager, Brian Cody has donated his All Ireland kit bag to Self Help Africa. The charity, which runs ‘Bag A Bargain’ For Africa fundraiser at the Ormonde Hotel, Kilkenny this weekend are delighted with the new addition to their ‘celebrity bags’ collection.

“We really wanted someone with a high profile from Kilkenny to donate a bag for this. That’s our main goal with the event, to heighten the profile of the charity. With the help of Mel C, Kathyrn Thomas and now, one of Irelands greatest hurling mangers, we hope to achieve that” said Fiona Kelly from Self Help Africa.

The bag will be on display at The Ormonde Hotel over the weekend. Similar to the Mel C bag, Brian Cody’s bag will take bids from potential buyers over the weekend, the highest bid goes home with the bag. “We have been extremely fortunate with the donations for this event, the bags are beautiful and really high quality. We’ll surely get some Kilkenny hurling fans in the door now and who knows we may even attract a male presence over the weekend” said Miss Kelly.

Bag A Bargain for Africa takes place at the Ormonde Hotel, Kilkenny Friday 25th November (6-9pm ); Saturday 26th November (2-5pm ). The event is completely free to enter. For more information about the charity please log onto www.selfhelpafrica.org
