Acclaimed singer-songwriter Karrie O’Sullivan will perform at Kilkenny’s Hole in the Wall next Friday, performing songs from her debut album, Jellylegged.
O’Sullivan, who is originally from Ballyhar near Killarney, has gained an increasing number of fans ever since a number of her songs received air time on both local and national radio stations, including Radio 1 and Lyric FM.
The aunt of popular Irish singer Mick Flannery, O’Sullivan is currently making a great name for herself in the music industry. Flannery himself has offered many support gigs, including Whelan’s, Roisin Dubh, INEC, and Dolans, all as part of the album tour.
A fully-qualified riding instructor who breaks horses for a living, she first came to national attention with the release of pop single ‘Have We Got Plans’. Her debut album, Jellylegged, features 13 original tracks and came out earlier this year.
Fellow artist Mary Coughlan rang out of the blue having heard a couple of songs on John Creedon Show. Now, O’Sullivan is also currently touring with her as a support act, and Coughlan wants a song for her next album, which she is planning to record in January.
The singer has attracted very positive reviews from all quarters, including from Jackie Hayden in Hot Press. O’Sullivan has also confirmed an INEC gig in January, and has been invited to the Nashville Songwriters’ Festival in Belfast in February.
Karrie O’Sullivan will play Kilkenny’s Hole in the Wall on Friday, December 2 at 8.30pm. See venue for tickets.
