If it’s live music you’re looking for this weekend then Billy Byrnes is the place to be. The venue at 39 John Street will host an array of home grown talents Friday and Saturday Night.
The Kanyu Tree who hail from Galway will open the weekend’s entertainment on Friday night. The band played a highly successful gig supporting Bressie at Set Theatre in October. Friday night’s support comes from Hot Press Magazine’s Bulmers Berry winners Swords. Doors open at 9pm.
Saturday night sees Band On An Island, long time friends of Thomastown, make their first Kilkenny appearance. The Kildare natives have been airing their songs for many years in the Happy Valley. This will be a one-off chance to catch them outside the comfort of their second home.
Deetrich aka Deirdre Doyle will also perform with her full band. Deetrich will soon release her first single “No Job, No Money”.
The evening’s entertainment will open with local singer songwriter Tom Kirwan and Kildare musician Appo.
Doors open at 8.30pm and admission is free.
