Get down tonight with Superfly

Superfly is Kilkenny's newest club night, the brain child of organisers Don Kennedy & Richard O'Brien, bringing all things soulful and funky to the city in the front bar of McSorely's tonight.

They hope to bring some of the best DJs of original vinyl in Ireland and further afield to Kilkenny for your listening pleasure each first Friday of the month.

This event is aimed at people who like to dance and get down to the sweet sounds of Otis Redding, James Brown, Aretha Franklin to name but a few.

The launch night kicks off tonight at 9pm and brings one of Irelands greatest, Bill Kealy who runs 'For Dancers Only' soul club in Wexford. His record collection is jam packed with 60s R&B and Soul dance floor fillers and he is regularly booked to play around Europe on the back of this.

A number of DJs are already booked for the coming months and inclue Martin Bradshaw (Floorfillers Soul Club, Carlow ), Michael Hammond (Discofied, Kilkenny ), Dave Barry (The Nitty Gritty and Cross The Tracks radio show, Galway ) and Mick Doyle (Floorfillers Soul Club, Carlow )
