A man who was fatally injured in a road traffic accident in Kilkenny this week has been named.
He was John Fitzgerald of Mullinahone, Co Tipperary. Gardaí in Callan are investigating the circumstances of a fatal accident in which the 80-year-old man was killed.
The incident – involving a car and an SUV – occurred at around 1.30pm on a rural route at Minnauns, Callan, on Tuesday.
The elderly man was the sole occupant of the car.
A forensic investigation was carried out at the scene.
