Clara gets spooked by fancy dress disco

The Ghost tour at Shankill Castle is set to be extremely frightening this Halloween. Shankill Castle has just undergone a study by the Kilkenny Investigative Paranormal Society.

The team spent a night in Shankill recording and filming in different places around the house. What they found was interesting and quite haunting. All will be revealed on the exclusive ghost tours that are taking place for Halloween this weekend.

Rooms that are not on the general tour, such as parts of the basement and certain bedrooms, will also be accessed and strange happenings and tales recounted.

Not only will the castle’s haunting be revealed, but guests will also be able to see the decapitated head of Saint Vitalus of Assisi. There is a lot of mystery surrounding the saint’s skull as it was bought at auction by a Canadian tribal art collector and head-hunter Billie Jamieson, who subsequently died on the day that the payment went through for his newly acquired head. The head is on loan to Shankill Castle as the estate of the late Mr Jamieson decides what is to become of the unusual relic.

The ghost tour is part of the ScareTrail at the ScareFest that starts on Friday October 28 and runs until the witching hour (midnight ) on Monday October 31. The tours start every evening on the hour from six till late. Tickets can be booked on the Shankill Castle website.
