The Run Kilkenny For Susie Long marathon event which took place over the June bank holiday this year raised a total of €13,441 for the Susie Long Hospice Fund.
The Fit 4 Life club presented a cheque with the total proceeds to Eamonn Corcoran and Laura Noonan of the Susie Long Hospice Fund at Scanlon Park last Thursday night.
Accepting the cheque on behalf of the Susie Long Hospice Fund, Laura Noonan, secretary of the committee said, “on behalf of the steering committee of the Susie Long Hospice Fund, I would like to express our sincere thanks to the Fit 4 Life Club and the organising committee of the Run Kilkenny for Susie Long marathon event. A tremendous amount of hard work, time and energy went into this huge event. Your efforts, passion and commitment to the cause were exemplary and the funds raised will go a long way towards helping us to achieve our aim of providing a hospice in Kilkenny for the people of Kilkenny and Carlow.”
