Kilkenny is once again preparing to celebrate its rich food tradition and heritage with the launch of the fifth annual Savour Kilkenny Food Festival which takes place from October 28 to 31 this year.
An exciting programme of events has been planned for this year’s festival, and details will be unveiled this weekend at a launch this evening in Kilkenny. A big PR campaign is planned to ensure record numbers visit the city to share in this great food extravaganza.
As part of the programme launch, the Savour Kilkenny festival committee is planning a “Chef Mob” and foodie photo call on the Parade Plaza tomorrow (Saturday ) at 3pm. Local Kilkenny chefs are all invited to the plaza to take part in this unique event, designed to alert people to the festival and to get attention for the festival in the national media.
As part of the “chef mob” and photocall, members of the public are being encouraged to go to the Parade on Saturday to help get into the Savour Kilkenny food spirit.
Organisers are asking local food producers, chefs, and food businesses to participate and if possible to take the opportunity to promote their businesses by going to the Parade on Saturday with samples of food to give to the passing public. And to simply join in the fun.
All are welcome to join the fun on Saturday and start the countdown to what promises to be the biggest and best Savour Festival to date.
Full details of the festival programme will be available on the Savour website at www.savourkilkenny.com
