Much-loved Brighton comes to the Watergate

A funny, poignant and uplifting hymn to the human spirit, Brighton by Jim Nolan is set in the Sisters of Calvary Nursing Home in London and follows plucky Irish widow, Fulham FC supporter and ‘Terror of the Third Floor’, Lily Thompson, on her last great adventure.

Sustained by her excursions to the outside world and the friendship of care assistant and passionate Arsenal fan, Dave, the arrival of a new resident, celebrated actor Jack Dunhill, brings them all unexpected challenges and new horizons.

‘Brighton’ will be performed at the Watergate Theatre Wednesday September 28 for one night only and it is not to be missed.

Directed by Ben Barnes, the production sees the return of Gillian Hanna as Lily and Andrew Macklin as Dave, joined by Royal Shakespeare Company veteran, Christopher Saul as Jack.

Jim Nolan’s plays include ‘Moonshine’, ‘The Salvage Shop’, ‘Blackwater Angel’ and ‘Sky Road’. A former writer in association at the Abbey Theatre, he is the newly appointed theatre artist in residence at Garter Lane Arts Centre and a member of Aosdana.

The play opens at 8pm sharp and tickets are €15/€12 and are currently on sale at the box office. (056 ) 77 61674
