Gardaí are hunting for at least two men who got away with an amount of cash in an armed raid on a post office in south Co Kilkenny.
The men were armed with a sawn-off shot gun and a sledgehammer.
They raided the post office in the village of Glenmore around 10.30am and got away with what gardaí say was a small amount of cash and coins.
No shots were fired in the incident and nobody was physically injured.
Gardaí believe they made their getaway in a red or maroon- coloured saloon car and could have gone in the direction of New Ross or Waterford.
Gardaí in Thomastown have set up an incident room.
