Kilkenny locals and visitors to the city during Arts Week are promised an unforgettable night in the Hole in the Wall, as Cashel Downs girl Ciara McCollam performs her astounding ‘Being Edith Piaf’ show.
Just 21 years old, Ms McCollam was ‘discovered’ by the proprietor of the Hole in the Wall, Dr Michael Conway. Following an impromptu rendition of Edith Piaf’s ‘La Vie en Rose’ during a sing-song, Ms Collam made such an impact on the assembled audience that she was implored to return, accompanied by pianist Clare McHugh, with an extended repertoire.
Following her highly-acclaimed performance of nine Piaf classics in July, during Dr Conway’s ‘French Week’, Ms McCollam agreed to perform a further two nights, during August.
She will soon depart for Florence, where she has secured a scholarship to pursue her primary passion, painting.
Ciara McCollam, with Clare McHugh, will appear at the Hole in the Wall on Thursday and Friday, August 11 and 12 at 8.30pm. Admission will be €10. For further information or enquiries, contact 087 8075650.
