Orchard House set for glorious first festival

The Orchard House Pub and Restaurant Kilkenny Festival is shaping up to be an action-packed event on Saturday, July 30, with a top line-up and good weather predicted for the weekend.

With top acts including the Hot House Flowers, the Classic Beatles, Dressed For Radio, Bailer, and more all scheduled to play, the day looks set to be a music-lover’s paradise. The first band, Dressed For Radio, takes to the stage at 3.30pm, and the music will continue until 11.30 at night.

The Orchard House will have full bars open, and an all-day barbecue to accommodate the appetite of even the hungriest festival-goer. A children’s playground and the variety of different music on offer, coupled with the beautiful weather makes the festival an ideal family day out.

The event is for a very good cause – in aid of the Jack and Jill Foundation, a charity that provides care and support for children with severe neurological development issues.

Tickets have been in demand, not just within Ireland, but also from the UK, and even the USA. This is the inaugural Orchard House Festival, but based on this year’s high-profile line-up and anticipated success, the event seems likely to become an annual stalwart of Kilkenny’s music scene.

Six bands, eight hours of music – there is truly something for everyone. Tickets cost just €20, and are available from the Orchard House, Khan’s Books, Rollercoaster Records, Essaness Music, and the Post Office in Irishtown.
