Bradley Creswick and the Irish Chamber Orchestra will visit Kilkenny from July 14-17 at Castalia Hall, Callan at 8pm.
A sizzling concert tour, Summer Serenade, features a medley of classics from the ICO including Barber’s Adagio for Strings, Mozart’s prodigious Divertimento in D, K.136 and a world première by Irish composer Mícheál O Súilleabháin alongside some of the greatest Gypsy melodies.
The effervescent Bradley Creswick is leader of the Northern Sinfonia and the London Philharmonia and guest leads a wide range of orchestras throughout Europe. Bradley is a fiddler on fire with the ability to create spontaneous music, something that eludes many classical performers. Though small in stature, he is a towering talent who demonstrates heart and soul which infuses the music and its performance.
This is Bradley’s first tour with the Irish Chamber Orchestra.
“One of the things I've always loved about chamber orchestras is that there's slightly more scope for individual expression than in a symphony orchestra. You also do get more rehearsal time — two days and sometimes even three, which is fantastic,” says Creswick.
The Irish Chamber Orchestra is funded by The Arts Council of Ireland. See www.irishchamberorchestra.com See the event on July 14 at Castalia Hall, Callan, Co Kilkenny at 8pm. Bookings can be taken on 087 0505669.
