After the huge success of the Mindhives Excellence Camp at Easter, the camp is returning to Kilkenny College from August 15 to 20.
The camp will be headlined again by expert local chef Anne Neary, who will show children how to cook up some of their favourite meals. The rest of the team who participated at Easter will also be there, including survival skills expert Donald Gray, who will show children many interesting skills including tent building and map reading.
Martial arts guru Kevin Hendrick will help children gain in self confidence, and all round sportsman Paul O’Flynn will show children the value of teamwork and coordination improvement techniques. The aim of the camp is to ensure that all participating children enjoy an action-packed week where they get to experience a whole range of life skills that can help increase their confidence and broaden their all round interests.
The Mindhives Excellence Camp is open to both boys and girls between the ages of 8 to 12. There is an early bird price of €120 per child, which is available until July 12, and thereafter the cost per child will be €140.
One graduate of the Mindhives camp, Megan, couldn’t speak highly enough of the week.
“I made friends so easy, I never thought cooking and survival skills could be so much fun – it was best camp i’ve been to,” she said.
